Convicted drug lord Herbert Colangco allegedly gave out P50-M worth of campaign funds to one of the presidential candidates last May election. This was according to a drug pusher who recently surrendered.
The pusher, nicknamed ‘Lito’, said that his boss Colanco donated P50-M to a presidential bet that he refused to name. He disclosed the information to PNP chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa last Wednesday, July 13.
Colangco is one of the high-profile inmates currently jailed at the New Bilibid Prision. He’s also considered to be one of the richest, if not the richest, prisoner in the Philippines.
Lito also disclosed that his boss often talks about his close ties with powerful figures—politicians and public officials alike—including a PDEA executive who would allegedly receive P150,000 each weak from Colangco.
Furthermore, he also said that former Ozamiz Robbery Gang leader receives around 200 kilos of drugs from China. He promised to disclose more information in the coming days.
Colangco is classified as a ‘high-profile’ and ‘high-risk’ prisoner. His criminal records include a series of bank robberies in the first half of the 2000’s. | ASCS - FNPH
