When ordinary water is boiled, the chemical composition of it changes which is typically a good thing as the volatile compounds evaporate and gases dissolve.
These harmful substances generally include arsenic, nitrates, and fluoride. Various studies have shown a connection between this fluoride and the damaging effects it has on the nervous system and brain.
1. When nitrates are exposed to high heat, like boiling water, it becomes highly toxic. High temperatures transform nitrates to nitrosamines, which can cause cancer. Nitrates have been linked to diseases like leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, ovarian, colon, rectal, bladder, stomach, esophageal, pancreatic, and thyroid cancer.
2. An accumulation of arsenic over the years may result in arsenic intoxication which has been shown to cause numerous health issues: cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurological issues, infertility, and developmental disorders.
You really have to be careful now if you are constantly reusing old water. It’s good to know that it’s not as harmless as you perhaps otherwise thought.
